Flyin' High In July...

Good evening! I hope you are well.

I'm probably going to jinx it in this blog - but up until yesterday, (6th July), July hasn't been all too bad.

On the 27th June (two Tuesdays ago), I got my shifts for work during my induction - and found out I'd be working weekends and on Monday. Each day of work, my hours reduce throughout the three-day week.

There's fun bits, and...not so fun bits - I enjoy stocking shelves (taking items from a trolley and putting them on shelves) - whilst looking for due-dates can be tedious (due to the amount of items I have to check), it can be fun sticking a "REDUCED" sticker on them.

Going into the freezer to find additional stock can be a bit gnarly (haven't got my uniform as of yet) - searching for a proverbial needle in a haystack - or a can of beans in a sizeable freezer room.

But it's my first job - it's the first time I've ever earnt money - and if they haven't fired me - I'm going to keep working until I drop - because should I quit "because it's too hard" - what does that say about me as a person - and who knows when the next job opportunity is going to present itself?

Due to my niche role, they said that there is a tinnnny bit higher possibility that I can stay on - even if it is as a different role within Tesco - but I'm going to take any opportunity I'm given - as prior to getting a job - I'll admit, I was running out of hope - with thoughts like "am I going to be unemployed forever?"

I suppose it's like a relationship - as much as it sucks I'm single at the moment - these things change - and I've come to terms with the fact that I am, and that's just the way life is - and if that special someone comes along - life always has it's way of working out. If it's not meant to be - then it's not meant to be and someone else is waiting further down the line.

Work has also given me a small structure - on weekends at least - which is nice and gets me off the computer - so more positives there.

It's just a bit of a shame that the only other thing I had scheduled falls during a work-day (indoor canoeing) but as work goes on, I'll better work out how to deal with clashes.

Other than that, it's been a pretty quiet week - other than taking a too-long break (at work) on Monday - and then having a league race...flop.

Tuesday

QRT at Spa went...pretty solidly - finishing 5th from 9th on the grid.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, I had an absolutely BRILLIANT race at Mosport in the FalkenTyre Sports Car Challenge.

Thursday

On Thursday, I started a new league called the "Evolution Sim Racing" League - and their first season is Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo's (single class) and I was able to finish 5th in the opening race (Team-mate 3rd! What a legend!) before finishing in 9th in the second race (from 11th) after getting involved in an accident - it was probably my first broadcasted race that ACTUALLY went well.

Friday

And just like that, tomorrow I have work again - I really need to relax more - this whole week, I've been updating my Year In Review - it really puts into perspective how I spend my time - and the time I have.

Sorry it was a short one - early start tomorrow!
