Blog A Day - Day 4: A Wild December Thus Far...

Good afternoon, Welcome to another Blog.

23 Days and 3 Weeks left of the year. It's crazy how fast time is flying by! Apologies for the sporadic blogs - having postponed everything to the end of the year, I'm now realising - I have a mountain of work to do in a very short amount of time. For me, the 31st December is a bit like a dam - I don't like anything spilling over into the new year - I don't want to carry my 2025 luggage into 2026. So, come December I'm trying to unload as much luggage as possible with the time given! 1st December, 2025

The first two days of December were admittedly rather simple (in regards to Blog A Day), for the 1st, I had the screenshots of my predictions for the year, and all I had to do was write a caption. I had this all fired up and ready to publish for midnight. 2nd December, 2025 On the 2nd, I'd make a start on "Statacular" before heading off to work from 2pm - 11pm - between for the next three hours, I'd work on smashing out "Statacular" 3rd December, 2025 Quite evidently, the blog planned for the 3rd came out 4 days late. Despite having this day off work, I had some critical work done on my car - namely having severely worn track rod ends. This (and other work) taking me to 5pm. The good news was, that all the car needed now was a new headlight bulb and tracking and she was ready for her MOT later this month. I'll admit, I got pretty overwhelmed. I was trying to juggle 6 different things at once: - Finish off the blog due on the 3rd December (iRacing Year In Review) - Finish of a passion project ("Kabort's Year In Pictures"), - All whilst money (and fuel) were tight as is... 4th December, 2025 On the 4th December, I worked from 8am - 8pm

On the 5th, I made very good progress on the blog - despite having work from 12:30 - 9pm. Last week was also rather adventurous as I found plenty of creative and different ways to get home - as I was running low on fuel and money. 1st December (Next bus in 50 minutes) - walked an hour, caught the next bus when it came (saving another 40 minute walk) 2nd December Finished same time, but caught train to local town and caught the bus from the same station 3rd December (Off) 4th December Walked home (1hr 32) 5th December Bought a bike (and gear) in the morning, cycled to and from work - this cutting my journey-time in half - both ways! Eventually, on the 7th December, just after midnight, I finally got my iRacing Year In Review in a state good enough for me to call it finished. Another big thing ticked off my to-do list! The Month Ahead! December has only just begun, and it's looking like the rest of the year (ha ha) is keeping up this rapid pace. Tomorrow Week 13 on iRacing begins - a week of unadulterated chaos - unofficial races (licences aren't affected by results), wild and whacky combinations... With no schedule for any Week 13 series 9 hours from Week 13 - it's pretty safe to say that many drivers will be unprepared for the Armageddon ahead! Week 13 allows iRacing to release new content and features in a safe environment - and catch any bugs, glitches or crashes - without the fear of iRacing drivers/members losing iRating/Safety ratings due to bugs and issues. It also allows drivers to have a one-week "mental reset" before the next season begins. After Week 13, the new scoreboards are wiped clean, and a new season begins. In real life, I've got a pretty exciting couple of weeks - this weekend coming, I'm having my tracking done for my Skoda (basically ensuring the wheels are straight after mechanical work done) and with the wheels straightened and tightened I have my MOT on the 19th December. A day after my MOT, I'm attending a "Sound Bath" - in my local area. Sound Bath

In so many words: You lie down and are immersed in soothing sounds and vibrations from instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. The only difference is, this sound bath is on an airbed in a swimming pool with blankets, eye-masks and refreshments (no, they don't offer pool water to drink!) After a very stressful end to the year, it's just what I need. And then I return home (home?!?) - back to my parent's house (home, home) for Christmas for a very lovely warm Christmas with the family to round out what's been an absolutely life-changing year. I do quickly return to the mainland in the stint between Christmas and New Years (MANY drivers off, somebody's got to run the busses!) before returning home(ish) again for New Year's Eve with me folks! Thanks for reading, and I'll see you soon!
